Season Eight Trailer

Larry Ryan Season 8

Send us a text

Season eight is on the start line, and we’re bringing bigger stories, sharper coverage, and more ways to take you inside the 515 world. After 105 episodes reaching listeners in thousands of cities across 142 countries, we’re doubling down on what makes this community special: honest conversations, race-day grit, and the people who keep showing up when the course gets long and the hours get weird.

We share where we’ve been and where we’re headed next. You’ll hear how to navigate our episode library like a pro, using the show notes to find every race, event, and athlete we mention. We also pull back the curtain on our growing YouTube strategy, from live catch-ups with past guests to a bigger and better UM Australia three-day live stream. Expect more cameras, tighter storytelling, and wider angles that put you right at the edge of the action—perfect for fans, athletes, and crews who want a front-row view.

This season, your input drives the agenda. We’re asking for your guest picks, your burning questions, and the topics that will help a focused niche reach new ears without losing its soul. Whether it’s training and fueling for multi-day efforts, the logistics of crewing and recovery, or the mental game required to finish strong, we aim to serve both the die-hard 515 Ohana and curious endurance fans discovering ultra-distance triathlon for the first time. Along the way, we’ll highlight under-told roles—race directors, volunteers, medics—and revisit favorite athletes to see how their big goals turned out.

Want to help? Follow the show in your podcast app to boost visibility, subscribe on YouTube for live coverage and exclusive content, and share an episode with someone who loves endurance stories. Have a guest idea or a topic we should tackle next? Message us via the links in the show notes, and if you want to fuel the work, tap the "Support the Show" link. Season eight starts Friday, with new episodes dropping every three weeks—come along and shape what happens next.

Larry Ryan:

Hey everybody, it's Larry Ryan, host of 515 the Ultra Podcast. This is a quick trailer for season eight of 515. That's a pretty big milestone for podcasts. The 515 podcast has now been downloaded in over 2,450 cities and 142 countries around the world. With 105 episodes now in the library, there are probably some people in there that you know. Check out past episodes for free wherever you listen. The link to the website library is available in every episode's show notes. The show notes also include all of the races, events, and the people mentioned, in case you want to look them up. So that's where I am. But I would also like to continue to grow what I offer in season eight. Obviously, I want to try and reach some new listeners and I'm asking for some help and advice from you. First of all, if you haven't already followed the podcast, please do so. In whatever service you receive your podcast, this actually helps to promote it to more people. And if you haven't checked out the YouTube page, give it a try and subscribe while there. Just search 515 the Ultra Podcast in the YouTube search bar. I'm still working on how to best integrate the content to YouTube, but some stuff you will only get there. Like the UM Australia live stream. I'm working with UM Australia again to present another full three-day live stream of their event. And after what we learned last year, this will be even bigger and better with more cameras and more coverage. YouTube is also where I do my live catch-ups with past guests. So if you have a favorite guest that you want to know more about, or perhaps how that event they were going to do turned out for them, let me know who they are and we'll try and get them on for you. So what I'm pondering right now is how do I keep reaching new people with a shrinking number of people doing 515 races? Please email, text, or Facebook message me with any of your ideas because you're the people in the field. Again, all of those links are in the show notes. And let me know who you want to hear in season 8 as a guest. I have some interesting athletes and profile lined up and some Ohana guests to visit with, but I still have a couple spots available for this season. Finally, if you appreciate the pod, follow the Buy Me a Coffee link in the show notes. I look forward to this season, and I hope you join me for all of the episodes. The first one drops this Friday, so go follow the podcast now and have it in your library every three weeks.
