Scott McDermott
Scott McDermott is an Ultraman veteran, elite endurance coach, author, and founder of Scottyfit.com.
After leaving a 13-year architecture career to open a 15,000-square-foot gym and author health books, Scott began testing his limits in ultra-endurance sports. He successfully represented Canada at multiple World Championships and placed 21st at the 2013 Ultraman World Championships.
In 2015, a near-fatal 70 km/h bike crash in Kona left Scott with a severe traumatic brain injury and shattered bones. Defying medical expectations, he utilized hyperbaric oxygen therapy and ego-free cardio to rebuild his body. He remarkably returned to race Kona three years later, a comeback chronicled in his award-winning documentary, Living the Warrior Code.
Today, Scott uses his "Green Day, Yellow Day, Red Day" framework to coach athletes. At 57, he has traded external approval for pure joy as he prepares for his Ultraman return.
